ICA is pleased to host the People’s Conference in conjunction with the People’s Biennial exhibition currently on view at the Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery, Whitehead Campus Center at Haverford College (370 Lancaster Avenue, Haverford) through March 2, 2012. This two-day conference has been organized to delve deeper into questions about regionalism, display, and structures of support for under-recognized artists in ways that push the boundaries of curatorial, artistic, and institutional innovation.

PR belle Nicole Cashman and The Central Committee for The Philadelphia Orchestra welcomed guests to celebrate the Academy of Music’s 155th Anniversary Concert and Ball at their third annual pre-party cocktail reception at Tiffany & Co. on Walnut Street. Guests mingled while enjoying music by Tres Compadres, food by Jean-Marie Lacroix’s Brûlée Catering, and plenty of champage (as is to be expected on such an occasion). Proceeds from the pre-party go towards The Central Committee’s efforts benefitting The Philadelphia Orchestra and its great legacy. The Central Committee supports The Philadelphia Orchestra in areas such as audience development, educational programs, fundraising, community relations and special events.

In addition to attending the glamorous black- or white-tie event, one guest took home a dazzling Tiffany Swing diamond circle pendant in platinum, donated to the fundraiser courtesy of Tiffany & Co. For an opportunity to win, guests were invited to purchase one or more Tiffany Crystal Atlas® Bowls, sold in advance or at the event for $200 each, with proceeds supporting The Central Committee.  One winning Bowl held the pendant, to be revealed during a grand Tiffany ‘blue box opening’ at 6:00 P.M., and Dr. Janice Gordon went home with the prize.
